It appears that the Village of Dolton’s legal representative, Del Galdo Law Group, LLC, has filed a motion to withdraw from representing the village. The motion cites Supreme Court Rule 1.16(a)(6), which states that a lawyer shall withdraw from representation if the representation will result in an unreasonable financial burden on the lawyer or has been rendered unreasonably difficult by the client. This raises questions about whether Mayor Tiffany Henyard has refused to pay legal bills related to FOIA lawsuits or if she has made legal demands that are deemed unreasonably difficult. The motion also includes a request for an extension of time to answer a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. The negative press surrounding Mayor Henyard may make it challenging for the Village to find new legal counsel.
