HBCU cheer squads took home titles and made impressive scores at the National Cheerleader Association National Championship. HBCU North Carolina A&T made history as the NCA College National Champions in the Intermediate Small Coed Division l group. NC A&T cheerleader Janiya Croxie told reporters that winning the title felt magical. However, North Carolina A&T wasn’t the only HBCU that impressed judges. Several HBCUs did amazingly well at the competition in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Jackson State University finished fifth, and Tennessee State took 11th place. The Morgan State Cheer Squad also impressed by winning second place in the All-Girl Intermediate Division. Morgan State’s head coach was thrilled with the squad’s performance. Xavier University also joined the list of HBCUs with top scores at the NCA College Nationals.
