Morgan State University Receives $1 Million from Blockchain and Crypto Solutions Leader Ripple

The Morgan State University FinTech Center received over $1 million from Ripple, a leader in blockchain and crypto. The University has had a positive relationship with Ripple for the past five years. The blockchain firm partnered with Morgan State in 2019 to fund education and research in blockchain, cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, and other related FinTech disciplines. The new round of funding will build on Ripple’s initial investment in Morgan’s FinTech Center.

State-of-the-art technologies like blockchain and cryptocurrency are revolutionizing the finance and tech sectors. With Ripple’s help, the National FinTech Center at Morgan State University is exploring new ways to leverage blockchain technology, use it as a force for good, and empower the next generation with technical tools that can shape their financial future. Ali Emdad, Ph.D., the founding director of the National Center for the Study of Blockchain and FinTech, stated, “This generous $1,050,000 grant is not just an investment; it’s a catalyst that propels our ability to innovate, collaborate, and prepare our students to be at the forefront of the FinTech revolution.”
