During the holiday travel rush, Spirit Airlines apologized for mistakenly putting an unaccompanied 6-year-old child on the wrong flight. The child was intended to fly from Philadelphia International Airport to Southwest Florida International Airport but was incorrectly boarded on a flight to Orlando. Spirit assured that the child was always under the care and supervision of a Spirit team member, and immediate steps were taken to communicate with the family and reconnect them. The airline is conducting an internal investigation into the incident. Maria Ramos, the child’s grandmother, said that it was her grandson’s first flight to visit her and described it as one of the scariest experiences of her life, according to local WINK News.
