Alabama County High School Students Receive Numerous HBCU Band Scholarships

Local students in Mobile County in Alabama recently auditioned for band programs at historically black colleges and universities, with representatives from 18 schools present. Among them was Davidson High School student Robert Miskel, who impressed and received a scholarship from Alabama A&M. Miskel, a trombone player, initially nervous, showcased his skills confidently. He also received offers from Alabama State University, Talladega College, Edward Waters College, and Mississippi Valley State University. Another standout student, Tristen Abrams, received over $100,000 in scholarship offers, including from Alabama A&M, ASU, and Wiley College. Abrams, a tuba player, attributed his success to preparation and his experience juggling football and band, demonstrating his ability to multitask effectively.
