XFL and USFL merge to create United Football League

The newly merged XFL-USFL spring football league will be named the United Football League (UFL), according to an announcement by league partners. The UFL will feature former XFL president/CEO Russ Brandon in the same role, while former USFL president of football operations Daryl Johnston will lead football operations. The league’s details, including the number of teams and cities, will be revealed later. The UFL will kick off on March 30, featuring the champions of the 2023 XFL and USFL seasons. Key partners include Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Dany Garcia, Gerry Cardinale, Fox Sports, and ESPN.
