Sources confirm Jimbo Fisher expected to be fired by Texas A&M

Texas A&M is expected to fire football coach Jimbo Fisher. The decision, set to be announced on Sunday morning, follows discussions in a Texas A&M Board of Regents meeting, lasting four hours, that focused on Fisher’s future. Fisher, with a record buyout of $76 million, signed a 10-year contract in 2021 worth $95 million. Despite early success, including a national title with Florida State in 2013, Fisher’s tenure at Texas A&M has not seen SEC West victories or College Football Playoff appearances, prompting the decision to part ways.
