Microsoft accidentally leaked its internal “StagingTool” app, used by employees to enable secret unreleased Windows 11 features. The leak occurred during a “bug bash” event, where Windows 11 testers provide feedback to address remaining issues before a major update expected in September. The StagingTool allows users to toggle feature IDs to access unreleased parts of Windows 11, similar to third-party tools previously used by Windows enthusiasts. Microsoft is aware of users enabling hidden features and now the internal tool is being widely shared within the Windows community, making it easier for users to access experimental features before they are officially rolled out.
