Memphis Fire Department terminates three employees over Tyre Nichols’ death

On Monday (Jan. 30), Memphis Fire Department Chief Gina Sweat released an official statement in regard to Tyre Nichols‘ death. In the statement, it shares that three Memphis Fire Department employees were fired for what the department described as failing to provide Tyre Nichols an “adequate patient assessment” when they were called to provide medical aid. As a result of the internal investigation, EMT-B Robert Long, EMT-A JaMicheal Sandridge, and Lt. Michelle Whitaker were terminated from the Memphis Fire Department.
