Meharry Medical College Launches Professional Certificates Program

Meharry Medical College has launched new professional certificate programs to help clinicians, administrators, and researchers use data science and artificial intelligence in healthcare. The goal is to help healthcare professionals turn complex data into insights that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Offered through Meharry’s Enterprise Data and Analytics, the flexible programs are designed for working professionals and are available virtually or in person. The three certificates include:

  • Data and AI Literacy – teaches the basics of artificial intelligence and predictive analytics for healthcare decision-making.
  • Informatics and Data Management – focuses on managing healthcare data systems like electronic health records and understanding data standards.
  • Issues of Data Privacy in Human Subjects Research – covers ethical and privacy considerations when handling patient and research data.

The initiative aims to prepare healthcare leaders to effectively use and shape emerging technologies in healthcare systems.
