Legendary TV host Bob Barker has passed at 99

Bob Barker, the legendary host of the television show “The Price Is Right,” has passed away at the age of 99, according to his longtime publicist Roger Neal. Barker’s career spanned over half a century, and he became an iconic game show host with his signature charm and interaction with contestants. He began his TV career hosting “Truth or Consequences” in 1956 and gained widespread fame as the host of “The Price Is Right” from 1972 to 2007. Barker was known for his catchphrase “Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered,” reflecting his strong advocacy for animal rights. Despite a brief scandal in 1994, Barker continued to be celebrated for his contributions to television and his philanthropic efforts, including his work to combat animal cruelty.
