Jazmine Washington Hired as New Langston University Volleyball Head Coach

Jazmine Washington is the new head volleyball coach for the Langston University Lady Lions. The university is excited to welcome Washington and believes that the Langston volleyball team can quickly advance with her guidance. Washington has an impressive history of coaching volleyball. Before joining Langston, Washington was part of the Florida Memorial University family. While coaching at FMU, Washington produced a Conference Player of the Year and six All-Conference selections. She also spent two seasons as the head volleyball coach at Philander Smith College in Arkansas, her alma mater.

The new head coach is passionate about volleyball. She has played club, beach, and collegiate volleyball, specializing in the setter and middle hitter positions. Washington’s goal for the Langston University Lady Lions is to produce a championship team. When asked what it felt like to be the new head coach of the Lady Lions, Washington stated that she was excited and honored to be a part of the culture and history that Langston exudes.
