Instacart delivery workers get shot at in Florida after going to the wrong address

A delivery driver and his passenger were shot at by a homeowner in Southwest Ranches, Florida after they accidentally drove onto his property while trying to deliver an Instacart order. On April 15, Waldes Thomas Jr., 19, and Diamond D’arville, 20 were on the phone with the customer trying to find the right address when they reportedly drove onto the homeowner’s property, who told them to leave. The homeowner then allegedly approached the car, and when the driver started driving erratically, he pulled out his handgun and shot several rounds toward the tires of the car. The couple attempted to reverse out of the area but hit a boulder, and the homeowner allegedly approached them aggressively and grabbed onto the driver door window. The couple heard three close gunshots and left the area following the shooting. Davie police ultimately found that no charges should be filed because “each party appeared justified in their actions based on the circumstances they perceived.” However, Broward County State Attorney Harold Pryor stated that his office’s prosecutors will decide whether charges should be filed. This incident comes after 16-year-old Ralph Yarl was recently shot after accidentally going to the wrong address to pick up his siblings.
