FAMU Launches First HBCU Metaverse

Florida A&M University will be the first HBCU to launch a Metaverse within Meta Horizon Worlds called the Rattlerverse. The university hopes that joining the Metaverse will allow people to know FAMU uniquely. Vice President of Student Affairs William E. Hudson believes the Rattlerverse will be an excellent recruitment tool that transcends campus visits or social media. The Rattlerverse will offer a futuristic virtual world that allows participants to explore the school’s campus and culture virtually. Experiences in the Rattlerverse include playing football on the FAMU field, marching in the FAMU band as a Drum Major, and other activities. A talented team dedicated weeks to virtually reinventing FAMU and is excited for people to see what’s happening on the campus in virtual reality. FAMU is proud to break new ground in higher education by joining the Metaverse.
