Colorado names Bengals’ Robert Livingston as defensive coordinator

Deion Sanders has finalized his coaching staff at Colorado, with Robert Livingston joining as defensive coordinator and Pat Shurmur retained to oversee the offense. Additionally, Phil Loadholt has been brought in to bolster the offensive line, while Jason Phillips will work with the receivers. Vincent Dancy and Brett Bartolone have been reassigned within the coaching staff.

Livingston, who has eight seasons of coaching experience with the Cincinnati Bengals, will focus on improving Colorado’s defense, which allowed an average of 34.8 points per game last season. Shurmur, a seasoned NFL coach, will take charge of the offense, with quarterback Shedeur Sanders leading the team after a record-breaking season.

Loadholt, a former NFL tackle, has been tasked with strengthening the offensive line, a priority for Sanders after his son was sacked 52 times last season. The team’s spring practice begins on March 18, with the black and gold spring game scheduled for April 27. The Buffaloes will kick off their season against North Dakota State on August 31, marking their debut in the Big 12 on September 21 against Baylor.
