Clark Atlanta University is a highly desirable HBCU, according to new data. The CAU’s office of undergraduate enrollment discovered that the university received a record number of applicants for its 2028 class. Clark Atlanta has received more than 46,000 applications, a substantial six percent increase from the previous year.

Many students choose the university after touring its beautiful campus, while others submit applications for Clark’s academic programs. Victoria Smiley, Clark Atlanta University’s SGA President-Elect, explained why Clark was her first choice for an undergraduate degree by stating, “I came to Clark Atlanta University because of the institution’s strong Mass Media Arts department.”

The university only has 1,200 spots available, so admittance into Clark Atlanta is now highly competitive. The university is increasing its preferred minimum high school GPA to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Most admissions will be based on the student’s academic profile.  Clark Atlanta University’s vibrant and empowering atmosphere will likely continue attracting new students. Dr. Cherise Peters, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Retention at Clark Atlanta University, said, “There is no lack of students wanting to come to CAU; it’s a powerful place, and they’re coming.”
