Bank of Ireland ATM glitch allows customers to withdraw up to €1,000 in cash

A major glitch with Bank of Ireland’s ATMs and banking app has led to long queues of customers withdrawing large amounts of money, up to €1,000, regardless of their account balance. The glitch has caused widespread issues, with customers taking advantage of the situation. Despite warnings that the money will need to be paid back, many customers are making use of the opportunity. Bank of Ireland has acknowledged the technical issue and is working to resolve it while advising customers not to withdraw or transfer funds that could lead to overdrawn accounts. Gardai (police) are reportedly at several ATM locations to manage the situation.
