Apple Vision Pro fails to sell out on its launching day

The Apple Vision Pro, the company’s augmented reality (AR) headset, reportedly failed to sell out on its launch day despite limited availability. While the base model quickly became backordered, the higher capacity 512GB and 1TB models were still available for in-store pick-up on the day after launch. However, as of now, all models show shipping times slipping to 5-6 weeks. The Vision Pro, priced between $3,500 and $3,899, aims to usher in the “era of spatial computing.” Analysts suggest Apple may have had around 60,000 to 80,000 units available for launch day, and concerns about the headset’s weight and app ecosystem may have contributed to the less-than-expected demand.
